Casino Luxemburg, Triennal

Reference project

Casino Luxemburg, Triennal

Together with a school class from the primary school EF Cessange arcs audio compiled an audio guide within the context of the Young Art Triennale. The audio guide allows visitors to experience the artworks in the exhibition from a child's perspective.

Art through the eyes of children opens up new and unique perspectives.

Eva and Camelia speak about „Totem Voyage 09 - L’île“ by Axel Gouala from 2021. It seems easy to understand on first sight, but at the same time raises questions: „Maybe we should go on vacation because it is named Totem Voyage?“

After they have seen the movie „A Truly Shared Love“ by Emilie Brout & Maxime Marion, Rafael and Rayan speak about their interpretation of this video in French. In producing the audio guide, it was important for the kids to speak in the language they feel confident in.

"It hurts until it doesn't" is a series of three large paintings by Julie Wagener from 2021. David looks at the artworks and expresses his thoughts in the interview: Is the person asleep or perhaps dead?

In preparation for the interviews, arcs audio held workshops in the class. The aim was to teach the children how to look at art and to prepare them for the interviews.

The children wrote down their observations and interpretations on worksheets. These are not only important for documentation, but also help the pupils to gather all their thoughts. This way, no detail of the artwork remains unconsidered.

Getting to know different perspectives was one credo of the workshops. By examining the artworks together, the students were able to directly compare different observations.
