Digital art mediation with arcs audio

With art mediation from arcs audio, museums create a special connection between visitors and exhibition works. Both the production and use of our audio guides simultaneously preserve the processes and infrastructure of the commissioning institutions.

We provide a full service in cultural mediation for museums and other institutions.

Which works of art are suitable?

Which works of art are suitable?

We will explain our working method and identify what is needed in an initial conversation: What is on show and what are the precise objectives of the exhibition? Is there perhaps already a digital infrastructure into which our audio guides should be integrated? Are there particularities that we should take into account? We incorporate all of our experience in the joint deliberations on how many and which works should be discussed.

Who to talk to about art?

Who to talk to about art?

arcs audio searches for interview partners for the dialogical audio guide. For this purpose, we will gladly meet contacts from your network and supplement these with our own research. Our aim is to create a selection of dialogue partners that is as diverse as possible, which we can use to open up a wide range of perspectives.

In principle, every person can talk about what they see and the effect it has on them. The sole criterion for our dialogue partners is a certain degree of curiosity and openness. Both become evident in the preliminary discussions. We also speak about the planned exhibition and familiarise them with the recording process. We give our interview partners everything they need to feel comfortable and up to the task.

The recording of conversations

The recording of conversations

We organise the appointments with everyone involved and bring everything we need. All we need for the recordings is an undisturbed period of time in which we can talk about the works. Of course, we also work with reproductions when the schedule requires it and the works allow it.

Depending on the number of works and interviews, we plan one to two weeks for this phase, which we can also document photographically or on video. We make this material available for communication on social media or other advertising activities.

We then go back to our studio with the recordings: We check them for technical defects and too many “umms” and “ahhs”, and edit and improve the sound where necessary. We select the best passages and put together a selection that offers following visitors a wide variety of perspectives and a pleasant listening experience. We then implement the completely finished audio guides in the arcs audio Web-App or provide them in the desired output format for your own devices.

The result: Audio guides and the Web-App

The result: Audio guides and the Web-App

arcs audio uses a specially developed Web-App as standard. It can be used on all smartphone platforms and it still offers our clients the opportunity to evaluate usage. We implement the App in your own corporate design and insert the audio files. For this purpose, we also record additional material on the works and artists. The audio guides are then ready: Simply scan the NFC tag or QR code for the painting to gain access.

We produce the information boards with the NFC tags and QR codes so that they match the key visual of the exhibition, just like the flyer that explains how to use the audio guide. Visitors receive these at the entrance. With its help, they can move through the museum freely and decide how and when they want to use the audio guides – also to trace back thoughts and think ideas further after a visit.
